The Contra Costa Council has awarded Assistance League of Diablo Valley the first Lifetime Achievement Award at their Inaugural Philanthropy Awards Breakfast.
This award is presented to an exceptional individal or Conta Costa County-based organzation that motivates others to give, commits time and energy without compensation, and provides talent for strategy, relationship enhancement, and the successful solicitation of donations.
Assistance League of Diablo Valley was honored as the nonprofit partner with NEWSMAKERS: Lesher Speaker Series featuring Peggy Noonan, who is a widely admired columnist for The Wall Street Journal and the best selling author of eight books on American politics, history and culture.
A video, produced by KTVU, of Assistance League's philanthropic contributions in the community was presented to the audience before Ms. Noonan's program. Assistance League is grateful for this recognition of its Caring and Commitment in Action in Contra Costa County.
The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence was recently awarded to Assistance League of Diablo Valley for meeting the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal.
